Munsiyari

Munsiyari is a beautiful hill station, which is a marginal area of Pithoragarh, on one side is Tibet border and Nepal border on the other side. This site is located at a distance of 128 km from Pithoragarh, the main city and at an altitude of 2200m. Due to the penance of the ascetic of the Muni’s Serah, it was named “Munsiyari”. Munsiyari is a small hill station located on the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand state. This small town is known for the most pleasant weather in Pithoragarh District.

A major part of this hill station is covered with a thick layer of ice. This hill station is also known as “Mini Kashmir ” and this place is the basis of Milam, Ralam and Namik glaciers. Munsiyari was also an ancient salt way of Tibet. Most people in this area are part of the Shoqa community, which are often known as Bhotias.

You can also take advantage of trekking in Munsiyari as you walk around in tourist spots. Khuliya Top (03 Days), Thamri Kund, Milam Glacier (which is Kumaon’s largest glacier) for trekking (9 days), Ralam Glacier (9 days), Nanda Devi Base Camp (8 days), named Glacier ( 10 days) can enjoy this mountainous site by tracking in places.

Summer in Munsiyari: –

This season starts from March to June. During this season tourists can enjoy a clear view of the high peak and the traffic route is open for tourists this season.

Monsoon in Munsiyari: –

This season starts from June to mid September. Due to heavy rains and landslides it is difficult to travel in the tourist and tourist spots during the monsoon season.

Winter in Munsiyari: –

This season starts from November and mid March. Due to the entire area covered with ice sheets during this season, there is favorable weather for enjoying or enjoying activities related to snow and other ice.
