City Pithoragarh Photo Contest 2024

Important Dates:

• Submission: Submissions could be made from 15th July 2024(8 AM onwards) to 24th July (till 8 PM).
• Winner Notification: Winners would be notified via our social media handles after 31st July 2024. 
• Prize DIstributions: the winners’ felicitation and prize distribution to be held after the announcement of winners. Exact details would be shared via our social media handles.

Entry Fees:

• 100 INR for each category(non-refundable). Participants can send the entry fee via UPI on UPI ID: Hemraj.mehta@oksbi 
• Deadline for confirmation of participation and payment of entry fees is 24th July 2024. Entries received after this would not be entertained.

Submission Guidelines:

• Participants must submit their entries through a Google Form provided by City Pithoragarh.
• Google Form is available on this link
• Each participant can submit only 1 photo per category (total of 5 photos for all categories).
• Photos must be in high resolution (minimum 300 DPI), in JPEG format and should not exceed 10 MB in size.
• Photos must be original and taken by the participant.
• Confirmation of participation and payment details to be shared with us via email on info.citypithoragarh@gmail.com
• Only minor editing (e.g., cropping, color correction) is allowed. Heavily edited or manipulated photos will be disqualified.
• Photos must not contain any watermarks, signatures, or any other identifying marks.
• The location of the photo must be within the Pithoragarh District. In case of any dispute, our team will make the final call on upholding/rejecting your participation.

Judging:

• Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, composition, and technical quality.
• The judging panel will consist of 3 judges who are experts in the field.
• The decisions of the judges would be final with no scope of any other possibility. 
• City Pithoragarh reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not comply with the stated contest rules.
• In case of a tie between two candidates in a photo contest category, the prize money is divided equally between the two winners.

Judging Criteria:

• Creativity and Originality (25%):Determined based on the uniqueness and creativity in the photographer’s approach to the subject/theme.
• Technical Quality (25%): Focus, lighting, composition, and overall image quality.
• Adherence to Theme (20%): How well does the photo represent the chosen category (Cultural Heritage, Temples, Natural Landscapes, Adventure, Wildlife)
• Message (20%): The ability of the photograph to evoke emotion or convey a message.
• Overall Impression (10%): General impact and the wow factor of the photograph.

Announcement of Winners:

• Notification: Winners will be notified via email and announced on the contest website and social media platforms.
• Awards Ceremony: An awards ceremony will be held, where the winners will be publicly recognized and their photographs displayed.

Prizes:

• Top 3 winners in each category will receive:
  Cash prizes, Certificates and would be featured in an upcoming Photo exhibition

Copyright:

• Participants retain the copyright to their photos.
• By entering the contest, participants grant City Pithoragarh a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display the photos for promotional purposes related to the contest.

Image Usage:

• Promotional Use: The organizers may use the submitted photographs to promote the contest, including in press releases, event posters, and online promotions.
• Attribution: Whenever the submitted photographs are used, the due credit would be given to the photographer.

Privacy:

• Personal information collected from participants will be used solely for the purpose of administering the contest and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

Disqualification:

• Violation of Rules: Any submission that violates the contest rules, including issues related to copyright infringement or lack of necessary permissions, will be disqualified.
• Notification: Participants will be notified if their submission is disqualified.

Agreement:

• Acceptance of Terms: By submitting photographs to the contest, participants agree to abide by these rights and regulations.
• Modification: The organizers reserve the right to modify these rules and regulations if necessary. Participants will be notified of any changes.
